I thought, as a diversion, that I would feature on this
web-site some of the geometric models that I developed in 1976-1977. At the time, I called this work "Base-9 Geometric Structure"; and the structures themselves "Pentanon Spheres."
The five Pentanon Spheres, featured here, are
actually dodecahedral space enclosures; each and all of which are built of identical sub-components.
All the graphics here are clips from my original
notebook; and are sketches of 3-D models of these enclosures (which I have built). So, there are no fancy computer graphics here.
Neither do I attach any particular significance to this
work. This is just for fun. |

While we're at it, we may as well take a look at a
certain semi-regular polyhedron that I stumbled across during this period (1976-77).
I call it a "Binary Icosahedron".
This may be a "new" polyhedron. That is, I have
not found it cataloged anywhere. If you are aware of this polyhedron from some other source, please let me know through the e-mail address provided below. . .so that I might stand corrected.
Actually, the chances of anyone coming up with a
"new" polyhedron, as simple as this one, these days, are really quite remote. Nonetheless.... |
